Mish mash o’ stuff
Well, Ethan’s third birthday rapidly approaches, and I am looking at finishing my masters in about 4 months. Where does the time ago? Barbara, Ethan, and I will be traveling to Mobile, Alabama for a little b-day cake with family and friends. I am looking forward to it. We got the new carpet down in the house, and it feels like we moved into a new home. Barbara and I were talking the other day about how strange something like new carpet can sort of “tie things together”. We have been moving at lightning speed, and we are ready to just slow down and enjoy each other. Ethan is developing by leaps and bounds. He is smart, and lately he has been showing signs of humor. He has a great face he makes where he can purposefully raise a single eyebrow (à la John Belushi). It is quite funny.

Anyway, I also came across a great article about someone I really respect, Jon Stewart. While it is common knowledge that he is well liked by liberals, he apparently is, at least a little bit, admired by conservative pundits as well for their treatment when they appear on The Daily Show. Here is a link to an interesting article:
